Piemineklis.LV — a granite workshop's catalogue, made quiet enough to use
In development. A Riga workshop that cuts granite memorials by hand, from the stone to the finished piece. The site is built for someone arranging a burial — shapes, materials and prices laid out plainly, in Latvian and Russian, without a single thing asking to be clicked twice.

The client's task
Nobody arrives at a monument workshop's website in a good week. They are usually tired, usually doing this for the first time, and usually working to a date they did not choose. Most sites in the trade answer that with a phone number and a gallery, which leaves the two things anyone actually needs — what the shapes are called and what they cost — to be asked out loud, by someone who would rather not be asking anything at all.
Our solution
The catalogue is organised the way the workshop already speaks: single, double, exclusive — the shapes drawn as outlines rather than photographed, so a form can be considered without a stranger's name and dates on it. Each one carries its price. What the workshop does and does not do is stated once, plainly: it cuts its own granite start to finish, it guarantees the material for five years, and the work is done in Latvia by hand. The whole site runs in Latvian and Russian, which in this trade is not a nicety — nobody should have to arrange a burial in their second language. Restraint is the design: dark, unhurried, no urgency devices, nothing that moves when it is not asked to.
